Mau Whenua Incorporated Society

Mau Whenua Incorporated Society assists Māori (particularly but not exclusively, Taranaki Whānui Māori) to retain their land and where possible, make productive use of that land.

We shall endeavour to take the steps necessary to prevent land from being sold out of tribal ownership, without first consulting with and obtaining the agreement of Iwi members (beneficial owners).

We aim to contribute to the educational, environmental and economic benefit of not only Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika A Maui, but all Wellingtonians.

We shall advocate for Social and Economic Development which enhances Education, Employment, Health, Wellbeing, Land Ownership, Housing and Cultural Understanding.

Mau Whenua Inc. Society shall uphold the principles and values inherent within the Treaty of Waitangi, for all of our people.
